Session: Intro to iOS

Nate is a mobile developer who builds apps people touch every day, and some that touch people too. He has over ten years experience crafting award winning applications for the web, desktop, and a variety of devices. He has worked with companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Oracle, to push the limits and deliver memorable experiences into the hands of consumers.

In addition to iOS and Android development, he also has several years of experience developing large-scale enterprise applications using Flex, Silverlight, and WPF. While he is primarily a developer, Nate also has a passion for user experience design. Before becoming a developer, he taught a number of courses on interaction design and user experience at Vancouver Island University as a Media Studies professor.  He still enjoys sharing and speaking about emerging technology at local user groups.

Nate currently lives in the Pacific Northwest on rainy Vancouver Island. He believes coffee should be classified a vegetable, and can usually be found coding in one of the many coffee shops in Victoria. When he’s not poking at a screen, he enjoys exploring local beaches, hiking, running, and snowboarding.
